Project Description
The present project is related to a novel heat exchanger thermal machine that able to control the maximum final temperatures and heating rates for the non-electric ovens and furnaces required to all industrial processes in a precise control (Adjustable heat exchanger-granted patent). The benefits of the patents can be summarized as follow: 1. all the pyrolysis reactions of organic materials can be performed by this patent due to its precise controlling for both maximum final temperature and heating rate, 2. Utilization of the patent in cooling fatty solutions, 3) Utilization of the adjustable heat exchanger in sugar crystallization, 4) Conditioning purposes, and 5) For transferring the thermal energy from certain nuclear reactors, especially those belonging to biomass-fusion hybrid concept. The adjustable heat exchanger provides precise control of oven temperature in a pyrolysis reaction. The heat exchanger includes two sets of hollow non-circular discs; the discs of a movable set being interleaved with the discs of a stationary set. A first working fluid circulates through a heat source oven and through the hollow stationary discs, and a second work-ing fluid circulates through the hollow rotating discs and a pyrolysis oven. The two fluids do not mix with one another but are always completely separate from one another. Heat transfer depends upon the relative surface area of the rotary discs interleaved between the stationary discs. Minimum heat transfer occurs when the rotary discs are rotated to a position clear of the stationary discs, and maximum heat transfer occurs when the rotary discs are completely interleaved with the stationary discs.

The Patent and Scientific Discoveries Reward in 2018 granted from the King Abdulaziz University (KAU) from Deanship of Scientific Research and Vice Presidency for Business and Knowledge Creativity as well as Inventions’ Excellence Award from the Souq Okaz festival in 2017.
