Project Description
This project demonstrates an integrated bioprocessing system that rapidly transforms organic waste into two valuable products: compost (within 1 month) and biochar (within 4 hours). A pilot system has been successfully tested at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) and validated through agricultural field trials.

Alignment with Vision 2030:
Supports the circular economy by converting waste into resources. Reduces landfill dependency and associated environmental burdens. Advances sustainable waste management solutions for Saudi cities. Scalable for city-wide plants or mobile units deployed where needed.

Agricultural Benefits:
Biochar enhances water retention and crop yields, particularly in arid zone agriculture. Compost + Biochar reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers, lowering costs and improving soil health

Impact:
This solution not only addresses immediate waste management challenges but also contributes to long-term agricultural sustainability, resource recovery, and the broader Vision 2030 goals of environmental stewardship and sustainable urban development.
